St. Petersburg is a fairly young city, relative to many other European cities. He is little more than 300 years old. But this is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and, undoubtedly, the most beautiful city in Russia. When the Russian Tsar Peter the First, also known as Peter the Great, returned from Holland, he, inspired by the beauty of Amsterdam, decided to build a new capital of Russia. The best European architects of their time were involved in building in different periods. Therefore, in the city and its surroundings an unusually large number of architectural masterpieces. These are palaces, fortresses, cathedrals and monuments.
To inspect all the sights of St. Petersburg, it will probably take more than one month.
